2027 Is Taking Flight: Join Sisterhood Birding for Unforgettable and Unique All-Female Birding Adventures
If there is one thing we have learned from our incredible travelers over the years, it is that birding is even more rewarding when shared with a community of passionate, supportive women. That spirit is at the heart of every Sisterhood Birding journey, and we are thrilled to announce our growing lineup of women-only birding adventures for 2027.
From the vibrant rainforests of Costa Rica to the dazzling Atlantic Forest of Brazil, our upcoming tours are designed to connect women with extraordinary birds, remarkable habitats, and lifelong friendships.

Costa Rica Women’s Birding Tour
April 16–23, 2027
Costa Rica remains one of the world's premier birding destinations, offering incredible biodiversity in a compact and welcoming country. This special women-only tour will visit some of the nation's finest birding hotspots, where participants can search for iconic species such as the Resplendent Quetzal, Keel-billed Toucan, Snowcap, Three-wattled Bellbird, and hundreds of other tropical birds.
The enthusiasm for this tour has been overwhelming, and we are now opening a second group for 2027. Whether you are an experienced birder or just beginning your birding journey, Costa Rica provides the perfect introduction to tropical birding.

Sisterhood Birding's Atlantic Rainforest Brazil: Tanagers Paradise
June 1–10, 2027
The Atlantic Forest of Brazil is one of the most endangered ecosystems on Earth, yet it remains a treasure trove of bird diversity. This tour focuses on some of the world's most spectacular tanagers, including species that seem almost too colorful to be real.
Participants will experience breathtaking forests, incredible photography opportunities, and the chance to observe a remarkable variety of endemic birds found nowhere else on the planet. From brilliant green-headed tanagers to dazzling saíras and other Atlantic Forest specialties, this tour truly lives up to its name: Tanagers Paradise.

Pantanal: Wildlife Spectacle
Also returning in 2027 is our unforgettable journey to Brazil's Pantanal, the largest tropical wetland in the world.
The Pantanal offers some of the best wildlife viewing anywhere in South America. Giant Otters, Hyacinth Macaws, Jabirus, Toco Toucans, and perhaps even Jaguars await visitors in this extraordinary landscape. For birders, it is one of the easiest places in South America to observe a stunning variety of species at close range.

Panama Harpy Eagle Expedition
One of our most exciting specialty tours returns in 2027: our women-only Harpy Eagle adventure in Panama.
This unique experience gives participants the opportunity to observe one of the world's most powerful and iconic raptors while supporting local conservation efforts. Previous travelers have enjoyed unforgettable encounters at active Harpy Eagle nesting sites, witnessing behavior few birders ever get the chance to see.
Looking Ahead: Colombia and Brazil’s Cerrado
The future is bright at Sisterhood Birding, and we are already developing exciting new adventures beyond our announced 2027 schedule.
Colombia
Few countries can rival Colombia's bird diversity. With more bird species than any other nation on Earth, Colombia offers spectacular hummingbirds, tanagers, antpittas, cotingas, and countless regional specialties. Future Sisterhood Birding tours will focus on both iconic species and local endemics while supporting community-based ecotourism initiatives.
Brazil's Cerrado
Often overshadowed by the Amazon and Atlantic Forest, the Cerrado is one of South America's most fascinating ecosystems. This vast tropical savanna supports an incredible collection of endemic and threatened birds, including several species found nowhere else in the world.
Future expeditions will seek out some of Brazil's rarest and most endangered birds while highlighting the importance of conserving this unique habitat.
More Than Birding
Every Sisterhood Birding adventure is about more than a checklist of species. Our tours create opportunities for women to travel confidently, build friendships, support local communities, and experience some of the world's most extraordinary natural places.
Whether you're dreaming of colorful tanagers in Brazil, quetzals in Costa Rica, Harpy Eagles in Panama, or future adventures in Colombia and the Cerrado, we invite you to join us as we continue exploring the birds and wild places that inspire us.
Space is limited on all 2027 departures, and early booking is encouraged. We look forward to welcoming you into the Sisterhood Birding family and sharing these unforgettable experiences together.
